Drowsy

Today is an unintentionally lazy Sunday. So, here are a few posts from around the web.... Enjoy!

If I lived in a barn I would want it to look like this....

If I lived in a warehouse, I would want it to look like this....

Oh, how lavender hot chocolate on a windy day puts me in a windy heaven

"_____ will ______ you"..... fascinating.

Oh, and...
I will never love you more than the drummer of flaming lips
I will never love you more than Woody Allen movies
I will never love you more than the White album of the Beatles
I will never love you more than God only knows

Floor to ceiling love

(via The Selby)

This is amazing!!! There are so many things that I love in this photo. I love that the books are stacked in columns instead of rows. I love that the books are so colorful and the couch is so grey. And I love the spiral staircase.

Have a Happy Saturday

Ain't that the truth! And I plan on doing just that tonight while I'm off at the NELA art walk enjoying Chicken Boy Gallery and Cafe de Leche.

Have a fantastic Saturday and check out these things I love from around the web:

A great reminder.
A beautiful nook with desk- perfect for doing crafts!
I would buy this in a heartbeat- it combines my two fav things...
Whoa! Awesome!
I don't like online shopping, but I wish I did so I could buy this & this.

From Osaka Japan

   The caption read :

"2011.03.12 From Osaka Japan, my family is OK. Thanks.
Please pray for suffering people in disaster areas. My family is OK."

This was uploaded earlier today on Hideaki Hamada's brilliant photostream. When it seems impossible to tear our eyes from live footage, youtube videos, new articles, headlines and updates, it's so nice to get a glimpse of what remains that is good and uplifting, even if it is just one safe family.

We are praying for you, Japan.

Before I die

With chalkboard paint, stencils, and chalk, public intallation artist Candy Chang created sheer inspiration. She transformed an abandoned home in New Orleans into a canvas where people can share (and discover) their dreams. “It’s about turning a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us.” I would do a lot of things to go and see this wall right now.

P.S.- Here is a photo-strip of the responses after the first day. They're all beautiful, but here are some of my favorites:

Before I die I want to love recklessly...again.

Before I die I want to cure cancer.

Before I die I want to beat the sense into you!

Before I die I want to marry LL <3

Before I die I want to understand.

Before I die I want to be o.k. with NOT understanding.

Before I die I want to see all the homeless people with homes.

Before I die I want to do it with Robert Doweny Jr. (this one is for my sis :] )

Before I die I want to feel like the only girl in the room.

Before I die I want to enjoy everyday in many ways.

WHAT WOULD YOU WRITE??!?

Dead butterflies

I love beetles. And dead butterflies. They give me the jeebies, but in a good way. So, of course I'm dying to visit The Evolution Store, a fantastic shop in New York  with a taxidermy and entomology department (which was featured on Unruly Things). Before you freak out at the though of decorative dead insects and rodents, consider this- It's part beautiful and part creepy, which is always a recipe for something magical!

P.S.-Before I die, I will have a framed collection of beetles hanging on my wall. But for now, take a look at some of my favorites:

In my opinion, this is the loveliest Butterfly.
...but how can I not mention the runner-up?
Who said Moths aren't beautiful??

To modestly put it on paper

A while back, I mentioned how much I love the Postsecret's that seem to be written out of desperation, as if the secret bearer had exhausted every option except modestly putting it on paper. This is a heartbreaking/warming, perfectly poignant picture of a soul that I'd love to know.

Tall

Props to this video: If you close your eyes and listen, it's amazing. If you open your eyes and see, it's breathtaking.

P.S. Here are some of Holton Rower's Pour series. He's incredible... I love what the man can do with locks.
